Why did I choose my speech?

To begin with my speech was created by Abraham Lincoln in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, November 19, 1863 and the meaning of it is that it was a turning point in the war. The stated purpose of Lincoln's speech was to dedicate a plot of land that would become Soldier's National Cemetery.

Then some reasons that I choose this speech is, because in his speech, he invoked the principles of human equality said in the Declaration of Independence and connected the sacrifices of the Civil War with the desire for (a new birth of freedom) as well as the all important preservation of the Union created in 1776 and it's ideal of government. Abraham Lincoln change the world in two minutes.

After that another reason is that he also had to inspire the people to continue the fight. Another reason is that it is considered one of the greatest political speeches of all time, explaining America critical challenges in their historical context succinctly while paying tribute to the men who had died in the face of those challenges. All men are created equal' refers to slavery a key cause of the American Civil War. In this war more than 3,100 American troops were killed and 3,900 Confederates died.

Finally he was in Gettysburg to dedicate a national military cemetery to the Union soldiers who fell at the Battle of Gettysburg four months earlier. It is good to motivate soldiers to fight for their nations.
